Coming home from cheerleading practice one day, an ordinary 10-year-old girl, Sakura Kinomoto, heard a strange noise coming from the her father's basement library. Like all kids, she became curious and made her way to the mysterious sound. Sakura became a little relieved after finding out there was nothing downstairs, for she fears ghosts and the supernatural. But then she finds a weird looking book glowing on a desk. Again, being the curious person she is, Sakura walked over to it and studied the book. Without thinking, she carefully lifted the book in her arms and gently opened the seal of this mysterious book and studied the cards inside the book. Carefully, she read one of the cards inside: Windy. After saying its name aloud, a mysterious, round, glowing symbol appeared beneath her and wind began to ascend from the floor. Before Sakura could figure what was happening, the wind grew stronger and all the cards in the book were blown and scattered. Sakura was left in shock, but another thing appeared before her. It looked almost like a teddy bear except with small wings... and it slowly came out of the book. The little figure introduced itself as Keroberos, the guardian beast of the seal. After finding out that all the cards he was guarding were now missing, he appoints Sakura as the official "Card Captor." Since she was the one who set all the cards free, she is the only one who can capture them and return them to the book. If Sakura declines her new found destiny, the cards will cause chaos and bring destruction to the world. Thus, Sakura Kinomoto begins her journey to find and retrieve all the cards she set free....
