Hosting Requirements

ONE) You should have a good layout. I want to see hours of effort into it. Don't even dare make layout out of someone else's wallpaper. I detest layouts using others' CG art unless you have written permission to use it. Furthermore, as a hint, I really dislike layouts made purely from a bunch of pictures blended together. Blending doesn't really take much effort to do. It just shows how you can open handfuls of pictures, fade them together, and add text along with other effects to cover up the simplicity. Challenge yourself and show me what you can really do.

TWO) Make your own layouts. Using premade layouts when you apply for hosting is a big No-No. You should also have your own layout style. The more distinct and creative your graphic style is, the better. Your site must also be finished and open. No underconstruction sites.

THREE) Must have an organized site with a good amount of content. I would care less how pretty your layout is if there isn't any content. The more original your content is, the better. It's good to keep your visitors entertained. As for blogs, you must be an active blogger. Also, please keep the broken links and other errors on your site to a minimum.

FOUR) No TyPiN LykE dIs. It's hard to read, and absolutely NO internet slang. (ex. Dat, dis, lyke, kwelz, plz, etc.) You may use "u" in place of "you" or "ur" in place of "ur" when chatting, etc... but I don't want to see ANY of it throughout your site. Your site should also be in ENGLISH.

FIVE) I do not accept any anti or hate sites. I also do not accept any web sites that have any kind of prejudice. Absolutely no porn or hentai content wuill be accepted. Yaoi and yuri pictures used in layouts and such is okay, but they must not be explicit. Swearing is okay. I can understand it being used when angry or just as a way to express emotions, but just be careful not to swear in every sentence. A G-rated site is a plus.

SIX) Must have either AIM, MSN, or a blog with a commenting system. I want to keep in touch with my hostees. I refuse to host someone who won't even talk to me. Keeping in contact with me through e-mail is out of the question, for I don't always reply to e-mails. I'm usually on AIM everyday and occasionally on MSN, so I don't see any reason for you to be unable to contact me.

SEVEN) Must have a proficient knowledge of FTP. I have no time to teach you myself. Also, since you'll have your own private FTP account, do not share your FTP information with anyone. I won't be responsible for any accidents caused by carelessness of sharing accounts.

EIGHT) If you cause any trouble to my domain, me, or any of my other hostees, I will give you 3 days to back up your web site. After that, your web site will be deleted off of my server. So, simply be nice. Keep in mind that not only do I determine if you'll be hosted by judging your web site, but also by the kind of person you are.

NINE) Graphic loading time should be reasonable. That being said, I will NOT host graphic-related sites such as layout archives, galleries, portfolios, etc. Don't even think about using my domain as a web storage server. You can try PhotoBucket for that. Free graphic sites are negotiable. I'm just extremely picky about hosting free graphic sites. They take up a lot of bandwidth and space, so graphics on a free graphic site must pass my high standards.

TEN) Please type in " Heaven " in the form where it says " Why should I host you? " This is just so I know you read the rules. By the way, you don't need to answer the question... just type in " Heaven "... but you can answer the question if you want to. I'm always a bit curious.

ELEVEN) Since I'm quite nitpicky, your web site should at least have coding valid enough to look decent in Mozilla Firefox. I detest Internet Explorer since there are so many loopholes and spyware that comes hand in hand with IE whenever I use it; therefore, if your coding is so bad that it won't look correctly in Firefox, then you're out of luck since I use Firefox. I'm not asking you to have 100% valid coding on your web site. I know that'd be asking for too much. I'm simply asking for your site to be viewable in Firefox. So even if the coding on your site is not completely valid (it'd be a major plus if it was though), I'd just like to be able to view it.

    If accepted, you get...

Around 800-900 MB of bandwidth per month.
A subdomain (http://you.firey.net/). If you request a subdomain, the regular URL (http://firey.net/you/) will still work.
An optional e-mail forward. (you@firey.net)
Your own private FTP account.
MySQL, PHP, CGI, Perl, SSI, and everything else enabled.
Password protected directories, if you want. Useful if you want to protect certain directories.

A new friend who'll help you and be there for you. (AKA me. XD)
